Blonde Hair Care in Camberwell: Keeping Cool Tones True

The five habits that separate salon-perfect blonde from at-home brass — advice from a Camberwell colour specialist.

Cool blonde is one of the most requested looks in our Camberwell salon — and one of the most easily undone at home. Here's how to protect the tone your colourist worked so carefully to place.

1. Rethink your shampoo

Cheap shampoos strip toner in a handful of washes. Choose a sulphate-free formula designed for lightened hair, and rinse in cooler water — hot water opens the cuticle and lifts the tone straight out.

2. Use purple shampoo like a treatment, not a daily

Leave it on damp hair for 3–5 minutes once a week. Any more than that and you'll go dull or ashy.

3. Bond-repair, don't just moisturise

Blonde hair is chemically compromised — moisture alone won't hold it together. A weekly K18 or Olaplex-style treatment rebuilds the internal bonds and makes styling easier.

4. Heat protect, every time

Hot tools without protection are the number one cause of dry, ashy ends. Spray or cream — whichever you'll actually use.

5. Book your toner refresh on time

A quick in-salon toner every 6–8 weeks costs a fraction of a full foil and keeps you looking freshly done.
