Hair by Sha is a Camberwell-based salon focused on considered colour, honest advice and calm, unhurried appointments. Sha has been colouring hair for more than twenty years across Melbourne, and the studio was opened with a simple idea in mind: give clients the time, attention and craftsmanship that a proper colour service actually requires.

Our approach to colour

We specialise in lived-in colour — balayage, foils, gloss work, grey blending and colour correction. Every service starts with a real consultation: reviewing your history, your lifestyle, your maintenance appetite, and what's realistic for your hair in one session. From there we build a plan that suits all three, and hold to it visit after visit.

What to expect from your first visit

Plan for a longer first appointment than you may be used to. We take the time to understand what you love, what you don't, and where your hair is at right now. We'll walk you through the exact plan for the day, quote you honestly before we begin, and use K18 bond treatments through any lightening work to protect your integrity. You leave with a written maintenance plan and a clear idea of when your next visit should sit.

Small salon, personal service

The studio is intentionally small. That means one client at a time, no double-booking, and no rushing — the reason clients travel from Hawthorn, Glen Iris, Canterbury, Surrey Hills and across the eastern suburbs to see us. It also means booking ahead matters; our regulars sit at 6–10 weeks and we hold their slots on the calendar.

We're at 1 Prospect Hill Rd, Camberwell — a short walk from Camberwell Junction with easy street parking nearby. Booking is done online through Kairo, our quick and secure booking system.
